Cégep de Sept-Îles
Employer Brand
The Cégep de Sept-Îles is a CEGEP in Quebec, and despite its remote location from major urban centers, it attracts nearly 700 students each year thanks to its unique positioning. With specialized research niches, particularly in industrial maintenance, and distinctive programs such as mineral technology, the institution stands out for its focus on the region’s natural resources. It is known as a vibrant, cutting-edge, inclusive CEGEP where it’s a pleasure to live, work, and study.
To develop the employer brand of the Cégep de Sept-Îles with a concept that resonates with teaching staff, support staff, technical professionals, and researchers. The goal is to engage current employees and attract new talent from local, provincial, and national levels—a bold mandate for a bold a CEGEP.
Through employee participation in surveys and focus groups, our team was able to establish a strong and inclusive Employee Value Proposition (EVP) that would underpin the concept. The results of this research were also communicated back to the employees to keep them involved in the process, as this initiative is by them and for them.
Given that the Cégep de Sept-Îles is at the heart of its community—a true economic and cultural driver in its area—the employer brand concept highlights a blend of the region’s visual elements and its employees. To match the institution’s identity, we had to create a new word that reflects the vigor of the establishment. The extraordinary signature “Extravivantique” refers to the creative execution that transports one into a vibrant and meaningful universe, deeply rooted locally, mirroring the creativity of the Cégep de Sept-Îles employees and the “living” aspect of the institution, as felt by all stakeholders. This expression describes a lively place of importance within the community, for both students and staff who choose to develop their professional, sports, social, and cultural lives in harmony with their surroundings.
The launch took place during a friendly 5@7 event with our strategist Roxanne. A recap of the mandate and a presentation of the visuals and upcoming projects concluded the past year’s work on the employer brand and marked the beginning of the next steps to bring it to life in an “Extravivantique” way!
